We also had many Christmas parties to attend, that definitely made it a pretty crazy holiday for us. The "relative" ones are always the same, but our family one was for sure the best! Even though we are only 25 minutes away from our mob family, it's definitely hard since we are so used to being 2 minutes away from them. At least we got to have a great Christmas party and New Years Eve party. Love them so much!
The family party was character dress up or ugly sweater. We didn't have much time to find a costume so we went to the DI and found some sweet sweaters. Zack took it to a whole new level by adding a sweet button up shirt and some old corduroys. It was a grand old time!
I also kept my Christmas traditions alive by making my treat plates. I can't get enough of baking, especially around the Holiday season. I decided to add my grandmas peanut brittle to the mix this year, as well as a candy called opera fudge. It was slightly granulated, but pretty awesome for my first try! I of course did pinoche, fudge, toffee, and cow stacks.
I added a tradition this year that I'm gonna definitely continue for years to come. My friend Muyly and I did a cookie exchange. She is an old roommate of mine from Utah county and still lives that way. It was fun to send a treat through the mail. She sent me yummy lemon ricotta cookies and fudge. It was awesome! :D
It's so funny how you feel sending and buying things to other people. It's a warmth like nothing else. I'm such a scrooge sometimes but during the holiday I can't help but be happy. :D
